MICHAEL KEROPIAN SCULPTURE
AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY MEMORIAL
Here are some progress photos of the first of three sculpture models for the American Revolutionary Memorial for Patterson, New York. The composition will consist of three figures: A New York Continental Soldier, a Militia Man, and Sybil Ludington.
The clay figure above is about 85% completed. The clay is held up by an armature or skeleton made from 1/4" alumnium wire. The armature is connected to the pipe which is fastened to the board. This system prevents the clay sculpture from falling over, but allows for adjustments when needed. I will replace these photos with new ones as the work progresses.
The photos below show the original sketch for the whole composition. Each figure will be first sculpted at three-feet then joined together. After the 3 foot model is completed the work can be enlarged to the actual size and cast into bronze for the Patterson site.
